Built on flavour.
Driven by science.
Lux is a family-founded flavour company from Chennai, shaped by more than four decades of formulation knowledge, customer collaboration and manufacturing growth.

From a house garage to an integrated flavour-technology company.
Lux began in 1982 with a simple conviction: flavours are created through judgement, patience and close attention to how people actually experience food and drink.
As customer needs became more demanding, Lux expanded beyond flavour creation into application science, analytical capability, emulsions, encapsulation, agglomeration, natural extracts and taste modulation.
That progression continues today inside a 105,000 sq ft integrated facility in Chennai, where ideas can move from brief to finished-product trial and commercial scale.

Brief, build, trial.
Then refine, and build again.
Flavour development is a loop, not a line. What the product tells us in trial goes straight back into the build.
Scale changed.
The discipline did not.
Lux remains close to the brief, close to the application and accountable for whether the flavour works in the customer’s finished product.
Flavourist judgement matters.
Technology supports creation, but sensory intelligence and experience remain central to the final profile.
The product is the real test.
A flavour is evaluated in the base, process and format where the customer needs it to perform.
Custom work is normal.
Around 80% of Lux development is customised around a customer’s target, market and technical reality.

Rooted in India.
Built for global supply.
Lux combines the responsiveness of an independent family enterprise with the infrastructure, systems and technical depth required by customers across diverse markets.
Exceptionally strong where flavour gets difficult.
The next chapter is focused on deeper application capability, specialised flavour technologies and technically difficult briefs—without making the customer journey complicated.
Broader sensory possibilities
Custom flavours, extracts and specialist systems built around authentic character and market preference.
Harder application problems
Taste masking, stability, heat, dispersion, release and format challenges approached as one connected brief.
Reliable commercial supply
Integrated quality and manufacturing capability designed to take a successful idea beyond the laboratory.
Bring us the difficult brief.
Start with a flavour, a product or a problem. Lux will help shape the technical route from there.
